Akshay Kumar laughs over Amitabh Bachchan’s water‑spill mishap; he hands over his kurta

In a recent episode of the popular quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati, Bollywood star Akshay Kumar shared a memorable incident that took place when legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan visited his Mumbai home in the Lokhandwala area. The story, told alongside co‑host Saif Ali Khan, highlighted the sheer adoration that Bachchan commands even among his own household staff.

Akshay recalled that one of his house help, a devoted fan from Allahabad, was so overwhelmed by the presence of the superstar that he accidentally knocked over four glasses of water. The water splashed onto Bachchan’s kurta, causing a burst of laughter among the audience and the actor himself. In an attempt to cover the spill, Akshay offered his own kurta to the towering star, remarking that it would fit him better than his own.

The anecdote, which was played for laughs on the show, underscored Bachchan’s enduring popularity. The actor, who first rose to fame with the 1973 blockbuster Zanjeer, continues to draw crowds who line up outside his Mumbai bungalow every Sunday to catch a glimpse of him.

While the episode was light‑hearted, it also served as a promotional platform for Akshay Kumar’s upcoming crime thriller Haiwaan. The film, a remake of Priyadarshan’s 2016 Malayalam hit Oppam, sees Akshay in a negative role alongside Saif Ali Khan, Boman Irani, Shriya Pilgaonkar and Saiyami Kher. A cameo by Malayalam superstar Mohanlal and the final on‑screen appearance of late legend Asrani add further buzz to the project.

Saif Ali Khan, who plays a blind character named Vibijeet Khurana in the film, and Akshay Kumar were on the show to promote Haiwaan, which is set to release soon. The film’s unique blend of suspense and star power is expected to attract a wide audience, continuing the tradition of high‑profile collaborations in Bollywood.
