In a statement to NDTV, Sharma denied any incident on the set, saying, “It’s false news. Nothing happened on Prabhas’s film set. Neither Prabhas nor the unit was responsible in any way. They are nice people.” He added that the alleged bite was a misunderstanding and that the director Sudipa Chatterjee, a close friend, had shared a post out of concern but was misinformed.
Sharma’s hospitalization in July was actually due to a long‑standing skin condition on his right leg that had progressed into a severe infection after he returned to Kolkata. The actor admitted that he had not taken the problem seriously at first, and his high diabetes levels worsened the situation. He has now completed treatment and is recovering, with plans to resume shooting within a week.
Despite the confusion, Sharma remains upbeat about his future projects. He is set to appear in Haiwaan, a Priyadarshan‑directed remake of Mohanlal’s Oppam, which stars Saif Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar and is slated for release on September 11, 2026.
Sharma thanked his friends and supporters for their concern and clarified that the rumors were unfounded. He emphasized that the incident never occurred on the Fauzi set and that he looks forward to returning to work soon.
