Cinema VinesActress Nora Fatehi is facing a civil defamation suit worth ₹3 crore after an aviation company alleged that her social‑media comments about one of its chartered aircraft were defamatory. The suit was filed in a Gandhinagar court on behalf of Dunes Aviation, which claims the actress’s remarks damaged its reputation and business.
Dunes Aviation says that during a Mumbai‑Jaipur flight last December, Fatehi shared videos from inside a Cessna Citation CJ2 that the company had chartered. In the clips, she referred to the aircraft as a “miniature”, a “toy” and a “Lego airplane”. The company argues that these remarks were “derogatory and reckless” and were posted to an audience of more than 4.6 crore followers on Instagram.
According to the airline’s complaint, the posts triggered a noticeable decline in bookings—between 15 % and 20 %—and an increase in cancellations. Dunes Aviation contends that the comments caused “serious reputational damage, loss of goodwill and adverse commercial impact.” The suit also demands that the actress remove the offending posts and provide a public clarification.
In its defence, Dunes Aviation highlighted that the aircraft used was a standard, DGCA‑certified model operating under a valid Non‑Scheduled Operator’s Permit. The company maintains that the plane was fully airworthy and that the comments were made without technical knowledge or verification.
The case is scheduled to be heard by senior civil judge R Agarwal on September 25. Fatehi’s legal team has yet to comment publicly on the allegations.
