During the triumphant press conference for her latest film, Maa Inti Bangaaram, Samantha Ruth Prabhu revealed that she is expecting her first child with her husband, director Raj Nidimoru. The announcement came while the duo celebrated the movie’s success, and the moment was captured by the media, sparking a flurry of speculation on social media.
Some users began to circulate images that they claimed were from a baby shower, suggesting that the couple had already hosted a celebratory gathering for the impending arrival. However, a source close to the pair clarified that the photographs actually depict a puja ceremony that was part of their wedding celebrations. The pictures, which went viral after the pregnancy news, show the couple surrounded by close family members during the ritual.
In the photos, Samantha appears in a maroon ethnic ensemble with subtle gold embellishments, minimal jewelry, and natural makeup, while Raj wears a matching maroon silk kurta paired with white bottoms. Both are seen smiling and adorned with small garlands, reflecting the joy of the occasion.
The couple’s wedding took place in December 2025 at the Isha Yoga Center in Coimbatore, a modest affair that emphasized their shared spiritual values. A few months later, Samantha announced her pregnancy at the success event for Maa Inti Bangaaram, adding another milestone to a year that has already seen significant personal and professional achievements.
Professionally, Samantha’s film, directed by B.V. Nandini Reddy, has become a box‑office hit, grossing over ₹100 crore worldwide and marking the first female‑led Telugu film to cross that threshold. The movie, which also features Gulshan Devaiah and Diganth Manchale, began streaming on JioHotstar on July 17.
While Samantha focuses on her new role as a mother, fans are eager to see her return to the screen after her maternity break. She is expected to rejoin the team for a sequel to Maa Inti Bangaaram once she is ready to resume her acting career.
